365DoT - Day 121

This is a sketch of a TC comic for the fourth story arc, "Around the World in 80 Strips," an balloon race adventure that will be told in exactly 80 strips. This is strip 1.

365DoT - Day 116

Like The TrevorGala, this is another story title: The TrevorCopter Flim-Flam. The basic story involves TrevorCopter saving Ruby Cove from the evil Lucar Scorpio (see last post) through a series of elaborate cons.

365DoT - Day 114

Forgive the red box in the corner of this picture. Just story notes that I blocked out. Another future story idea, slightly from real life. I am a magician. That is, on a missions trip to Mexico in high school, I learned evangelical magic as one of the ways around the language barrier while we were in Mexico spreading The Word. I did my act once because the kit of magic that my church purchased has not been seen since that trip. But it did give me the idea that Trevor and his twin brother, Trey, did magic as kids (which will lead to Trevor as an adult to be pulled into a deep conspiracy).

365DoT - Day 113

Came up with this idea during Comic Con last week. Mostly, after seeing so many Gundam figures on the convention floor, I wanted to attempt a Copter-mech. The giant hamster was the most ridiculous thing I could think of for Trevor to fight. And you'll notice the one defect of working in this notebook: the pages are awfully thin and tend to tear when you press down too hard while drawing. That's the why there is a hole in Trevor in the bottom of picture 2.

365DoT - Day 112

This story, I do know what will happen. Following the first story arc, Trevor will be honored for his efforts with a gala. Only problem is that he will completely forget about it until 15 minutes before it starts. So Trevor and the gang have to get ready and rush off to the gala, while Agent Hawke and The Rubester have to stall.

365DoT - Day 111

This is a sketch of a comic idea. I have no idea of the context, other than the story will take place while Trevor is in high school/college. And I have no idea what terrible thing is behind them. I just liked the idea of Trevor completely missing the point.

365DoT - Day 110

I rather like this picture. For starters, it's just a nice layout and all the characters came out looking good (except Cait's face is a little round for my taste). But this is a super group of copter pilots that Trevor joins before the birth of TrevorCopter. The are called The Copter Brigade and they're also an homage to The Fantastic Four  (though they'll be more like the Ultimate FF if you understand the reference) with Francoise as Reed Richards, Trevor as Johnny Storm, Cait as Sue Storm and Stan as Ben Grimm aka The Thing.

365DoT - Day 109

I got the idea for this drawing from a White Stripes picture, which I found on this video of Love is Blindness by Jack White

365DoT - Day 107

Over the weekend in San Diego, I decided that I wanted to create an 8-bit version of TrevorCopter, which would be included in the eventual packet of comics I send to publishers and newspapers. This is an opening slide, similar to Super Mario Bros. 2

365DoT - Day 105

It's the final day of Comic-Con (which is where I have been this weekend) and I sketched these on the ride back on the train. Wonderful weekend, can't wait for next year!

NOTE: The REAL Trevor dressed up as one of these characters during Comic Con (It was Ronald McDonald)

And now back to our regularly scheduled TrevorCopter programming.

365DoT - Day 99

Since yesterday's post was about Spider-Hero, I figured I should include his greatest detractor, Ruby News Day publisher, I. Ian Iverson the III (once again, an obvious homage to J. Jonah Jameson, publisher of The Daily Bugle).

365DoT - Day 98

Here are a few sketches of the vigilante known as Spider-Hero, a character that is based (obviously) on Peter Parker/Spider-Man and an ally to TrevorCopter. He also works for the Ruby Cove newspaper, The Ruby News Day (a play on words homage to the Rolling Stones song "Ruby Tuesday")

365DoT - Day 95

This is a little sketch of a storyline I want to do called CopterTrevor, where The Copter is placed into a robot version of Trevor. Hilarity ensues.

365DoT - Day 94

Happy 4th of July! Today's post is of the most patriotic TC character, Agent Hawke. Now go blow something up!

365DoT - Day 91

Long story short, I got fired last month. It sucked, but I also hated my job, so it was kind of a wash. But anyway, that weekend, I got a little notebook that I decided was going to be dedicated to my strip TrevorCopter. Over the next month, I'll be posting sketches from that notebook. The first one I wanted to share was the logo for ARMOR, the SHIELD-esque organization that some of the characters were working for in my full page sketch that I posted all last week.
