365DoT - Day 180

Yesterday's strip was a remake of an old comic, so I created this piece to compare the two comics side-by-side.

365DoT - Day 152

And here we are at the end of the month and this final step down memory lane. This last drawing is the bridge: an old picture (2009) for a future project. I've had this idea for Shittiness is 4th Place (a parody of the Peanuts book, Happiness is a Warm Puppy) and this is one of the early sketches. It's also one of my top priorities to finish by the end of the year. Tomorrow, I'll be back in the present and looking forward to what comes next.

Shittiness is the air conditioner breaking on a hot day.

365DoT - Day 149

We're getting closer to the present. The Green Lantern Teddy has been posted before, but I wanted to include it with the other Lantern Bear.

365DoT - Day 145

This is a cover an what I assume was going to be Teddy the Bear issue #3. It's surprisingly dark.

365DoT - Day 142

Every art class I took in school, I put my characters into every project (or as many as the teacher would allow). The next 3 days will be a small selection of those projects.

365DoT - Day 141

And just as much as I loved Sonic, I loved DBZ. This is one of my favorite pieces I have ever drawn, depicting Trunks as a bad-ass.

365DoT - Day 140

Like I said a few posts ago, I used to love Sonic the Hedgehog, specifically I loved his friendly nemesis, Knuckles. Here is the validation of my love.

365DoT - Day 139

Once upon a time, afternoons used to be king. Come home from school and the most amazing cartoons and shows would be on Fox/Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network. I wanted to be a part of it, so I tried to create an animated show. I present The Dumb Snowman & Friends Show, of which there are about 15/20 "animation cells" (colored pencil drawings that don't match up whatsoever). Note the Post-It on the corner of the title card.

365DoT - Day 138

The Jon Arbuckle of Leonard P. Dog is a guy named Bert Johnson. Bert has the distinction of being only character to be created twice. When I started Teddy the Bear in The STAR, I wanted a human character, so I brought back Bert's design. The only thing was that I did not remember what he was named so, I named him Bert Johnson. When I came back for the first break following Teddy's publication, I was shocked to find that Bert Johnson was what I called him when I first created him. Like I've said before, I like bringing things back because it's usually the second time that the character finds their true place in the world. Here is the original Bert and his subsequent re-creations.

365DoT - Day 137

Following up from yesterday's post, here is one of the only Leonard P. Dog comics that I could find.

365DoT - Day 136

One more superhero piece from my Garfield-esque comic strip, Leonard P. Dog. A few jokes from this strip (not featured here) will make their way into TrevorCopter.

365DoT - Day 135

Speaking of loving comic books, one of the best jobs I ever had was working at Comic Castle, Eureka's premiere (and closed) comic book store. I had many opportunities to be creative in that place, namely in the signs I made whenever I went on lunch or did banking. Here are a few examples.

365DoT - Day 134

This is from 1999, the start of my love of super heroes and comic books. These are villains of a strip titled Silver Bear. Berry Eye remains a favorite and is the inspiration for every character I have that has an eye-patch (which is currently 4 by my count)

Clockwise from top left: Berry Eye, Dark Bear, Snake Eyes, Twinster
